BACKGROUND
Trish May brings over 19 years full-time tourism marketing experience to her tourism consultancy.
After establishing her company in August 2000, Trish contracted to Shotover Jet Ltd and soon after Millbrook Resort.
Growing Client Base: Tourism New Zealand, AA Tourism, Qualmark New Zealand , New Zealand Ski Tourism Marketing Network, Backpacker Tourism Marketing Network, Novotel Lakeside Rotorua/Hotel Ibis Rotorua, Edgewater Resort, Wai-o-tapu Thermal Wonderland, Waimangu Volcanic Valley, Visit Ruapehu, Hobbiton Movie Set and Farm Tours, Rotorua Regional Airport and Windhawk Helicopters.
The Early Career: Trish commenced her career in Rotorua with Tourism Rotorua Marketing, the regional tourism organisation for the region. As a young organisation Trish's experiences spanned a range of roles from domestic marketing, sales collateral development, hosting visiting media and leading tourism delegations overseas to countries such as Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia and the United States.
In 1997 Trish joined the marketing department at Rainbow Springs and Farm Show, also in Rotorua. At that time the company was owned by Shotover Jet Ltd, then a publicly listed company. The focus of Trish's energies were on the growing Asian markets which delivered significant business to both the Springs and Farm show products.
Academic: Trish holds a double major BA degree from the University of Canterbury, a Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism from Otago University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business and Administration from Massey University.
Professional: In 2004 Trish was the only New Zealand based delegate to attend the inaugural TOUR COM conference, held by the then World Tourism Organisation in Madrid. In 2009 she attended the SKAL Congress in Budapest, Hungary.
May Communication and Marketing Ltd is a member of the New Zealand Tourism Industry Association . Trish is a member of SKAL International.
