The Early Career

Trish commenced her career in Rotorua with Tourism Rotorua Marketing, the regional tourism organisation for the region.

As a young organisation Trish's experiences spanned a range of roles from domestic marketing, sales collateral development, international marketing and hosting visiting media.

She led tourism delegations overseas to countries such as Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia and the United States.

In 1997 Trish joined the marketing department at Rainbow Springs and Farm Show, also in Rotorua.  At that time the company was owned by Shotover Jet Ltd, then a publicly listed company (now owned by Ngai Tahu Tourism).  The focus of Trish's energies were on the growing Asian markets which delivered significant business to both the Springs and Farm show products.

In 2004 Trish was the only New Zealand based delegate to attend the inaugural TOUR COM conference, held by the then World Tourism Organisation in Madrid in 2004.

In 2009 she attended the SKAL Congress in Budapest, Hungary.

Trish has attended short courses including the University of Canterbury Accounting for non-Accountants (2006) and the Institute of Directors Governance Essentials in 2012.

Trish is a member of SKAL International.  She is currently New Zealand National Vice-President.

Trish is a Trustee of the Central Otago Queenstown Trail Trust Network.
